Mae Blwyddyn 4 yn gyfnod lle mae’r dysgwyr yn datblygu eu hyder a’u haeddfedrwydd yn gynyddol, gan adeiladu ar y sgiliau a’r profiadau a gafwyd yn ystod y blynyddoedd blaenorol. Rhoddir cyfleoedd rheolaidd i’r plant gymryd mwy o gyfrifoldeb am eu dysgu a chyfrannu at fywyd y dosbarth a’r ysgol.

Mae’r ffocws ar ddatblygu medrau llythrennedd a rhifedd yn parhau, gyda’r dysgwyr yn cael cyfleoedd i gymhwyso eu sgiliau mewn amrywiaeth o gyd-destunau ystyrlon. Maent hefyd yn datblygu eu medrau digidol, creadigol a gwaith tîm wrth weithio ar brosiectau a gweithgareddau trawsgwricwlaidd.

Uchafbwynt arbennig i lawer o ddisgyblion Blwyddyn 4 yw’r cwrs preswyl cyntaf, sy’n aml yn golygu eu noson gyntaf oddi cartref heb eu teuluoedd. Mae’r profiad gwerthfawr hwn yn helpu’r plant i ddatblygu annibyniaeth, hyder, gwydnwch a sgiliau cymdeithasol, wrth greu atgofion parhaol gyda’u cyfoedion.

Bydd dysgwyr Blwyddyn 4 hefyd yn cymryd rhan yn yr Asesiadau Personol Cenedlaethol mewn Darllen Cymraeg, Darllen Saesneg, Rhifedd (Trefnol) a Rhifedd (Rhesymu), fel arfer yn ystod tymor yr haf. Defnyddir y wybodaeth hon i gefnogi cynnydd a chynllunio’r camau nesaf yn nysgu pob plentyn.

Fel bob amser, mae’n bwysig cofio bod pob dysgwr yn datblygu ar ei gyflymder ei hun. Ein nod yw sicrhau bod pob plentyn yn teimlo’n hapus, yn ddiogel ac yn barod i wynebu heriau newydd.

Year 4 is a stage where learners continue to grow in confidence and maturity, building on the skills and experiences gained in previous years. Children are given regular opportunities to take greater responsibility for their learning and to contribute positively to class and school life.

The focus on developing literacy and numeracy skills continues, with learners applying their knowledge in a variety of meaningful contexts. They also further develop their digital, creative and teamwork skills through cross-curricular projects and activities.

A particular highlight for many Year 4 pupils is their first residential visit, which is often their first night away from home without their families. This valuable experience helps children develop independence, confidence, resilience and social skills, while creating lasting memories with their classmates.

Year 4 learners also take part in the National Personalised Assessments in Welsh Reading, English Reading, Numeracy (Procedural) and Numeracy (Reasoning), usually during the summer term. The information gathered helps staff support pupil progress and plan the next steps in learning.

As always, it is important to remember that every child develops at their own pace. Our aim is to ensure that every learner feels happy, safe and ready to embrace new challenges.

Gwaith Cartref/ Homework:

Danfonir gwaith cartref allan yn wythnosol naill ai ar bapur neu ar Microsoft Teams. Rhoddir gwaith cartref sillafu a llyfrau darllen am yn ail iaith yn  wythnosol hefyd.

Homework is sent out weekly. The homework will be given either in paper format or digitally via Microsoft Teams. Welsh and English spelling and reading work will be set as extra homework activities.

Aml-ieithrwydd/ Multilingualism:

Mae'r ysgol yn cyflwyno nifer o ieithoedd ar lawr y dosbarth. Mae disgyblion Blwyddyn 3 yn canolbwyntio ar ddatblygu eu sgiliau Sbaeneg.

We introduce the children to a wide variety of languages across the school. year 3 will further develop their knowledge of Spanish.
